Hi Bee Club Presidents, Officers, and Friends,
The 2024-2025 US Beekeeping Survey will be opening on April 1st! I’m reaching out to encourage you to share this at your club meetings this month. You might even consider having everyone fill it out as part of the meeting. It should only take about 15mins I have attached the announcement flier and the slides I shared during my monthly state-wide zoom. Feel free to email the information or post about it on your social media pages as well!
Last year only .3% of Kentucky’s beekeepers participated, resulting in only about .3% of our total hives being included in the survey. The data we collect is useful to everyone, and helps us as educators to answer questions about things like overwintering colony loss. We would love to see much greater participation this year!

I’m very excited to be starting a monthly webinar meeting for Kentucky beekeepers and those interested in getting into beekeeping. I’m hoping that this is a new way for us to connect and share information!

Starting in January, I will be hosting a monthly zoom meeting open to anyone that would like to participate. This will be a way for me to communicate important beekeeping related information and an opportunity for you to ask me questions! The first meeting will be Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 12pm EST/11am CT. While I know this time may not be ideal for everyone, the meeting will be recorded.
